Darren Savoye has been elevated to Executive Vice President of Engineering & Business Development

Richard Murphy has been elevated to Vice President of Government Program Management for the Louisiana Divisions

LOCKPORT, La., — (May 12, 2022) – Bollinger Shipyards LLC (“Bollinger”) today announced the promotions of Darren Savoye and Richard Murphy. Mr. Savoye has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Engineering & Business Development and Mr. Murphy has been elevated to Vice President of Government Program Management for the Louisiana Divisions. They will begin to serve in their new roles effective immediately.

With over 30 years of shipyard and engineering experience, Mr. Savoye will assume responsibility for overseeing all commercial and government engineering and business development for the Company. Since joining the Bollinger Team in 1995, Mr. Savoye held the positions of Project Engineer, Program Manager, Director of Advanced Programs and Vice President of Business Development in which he was responsible for all facets of technical design, estimating, government and commercial proposal development and negotiation of new contracts.

Mr. Murphy will oversee all government programs being designed and built in Bollinger’s Louisiana facilities, including the Fast Response Cutter and Waterways Commerce Cutter programs for the U.S. Coast Guard, the Mine Countermeasures Unmanned Surface Vessel (MCM USV) and the Towing, Salvage and Rescue Ships (T-ATS) programs for the U.S. Navy, as well as the Regional Class Research Vessel for the National Science Foundation and Oregon State University. Mr. Murphy joined Bollinger Shipyards in 2013. He has held the positions of Senior Manager for U.S. Coast Guard and other governmental programs and Senior Program Manager for Design Programs. Previously, Mr. Murphy completed 30 years with the U.S. Coast Guard, culminating with the rank of Captain.

Mr. Savoye holds a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering Management, both from the University of New Orleans. Mr. Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, and a Master’s Degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University.
