Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an experienced Naval Architect to join its team.

A Naval Architect develops designs of marine craft and floating structures, such as ships, barges, tugs, etc. and performs calculations necessary to assist in the design and fabrication of such vessels.

The requirements of the position are as follows:

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in vessel design development, structural design, and auxiliary systems design for marine crafts such as patrol vessels, offshore supply vessels, tugs, and barges;
• Must have excellent communication and leadership skills;
• Must have complete familiarity with ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO and other applicable regulations;
• Must be able to schedule and direct work on multiple projects;
• Must have the ability to work within a fast-paced environment;
• Must be a U.S. National; and
• Experience with AutoCAD, FEA, GHS, Rhino software is desirable.

Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an experienced Quality System Engineer to join its team.

The Quality System Engineer’s responsibilities will include developing and executing quality system improvements by utilizing process control, data collection and analysis with statistical thinking and methodologies to identify opportunities for improvements, and assist in planning improvements, executing the plan, and then following up to ensure system and business results have been statistically improved and sustained, especially with regard to meeting customer expectations.

• Must possess an Associate’s degree in industrial technology or equivalent education (B.S. in Industrial Engineering preferred) along with 3 years’ experience in quality management systems in a shipyard, construction, or manufacturing setting OR seven years of quality management or process manufacturing experience;
• Must have strong organizational, math, analytical and problem solving skills;
• Must have strong understanding of quality systems concepts in accordance with established standards (i.e. ISO 9001, API QI);
• Must have excellent communication skills;
• Must have basic knowledge and application of statistical process controls and other process measurement tools;
• Must be willing to travel on a regular basis to the various Company facilities;

Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an experienced Project Subcontract Manager to join its team.

A Project Subcontract Manager monitors subcontractors’ performance, schedule and deliverables to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives and all contractual obligations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: coordinating subcontract efforts as it relates to the production function which includes schedule coordination, subcontract progressing, change order management and all associated integration within core construction administration and management; coordinating and scheduling all aspects of assigned projects among the various disciplines such as engineering, procurement, production, supply chain, etc; developing mitigation solutions to ensure total construction effort is maintained according to plan; and address daily personnel, equipment and facility issues in addition to developing viable solutions and remedial actions.

The requirements of the position are as follows:

• Eight (8) or more years of experience in a shipbuilding or related manufacturing field setting or five (5) years of experience in shipbuilding and marine outfitting, propulsion, auxiliaries and/or electrical/electronic integration aboard vessels;
• Basic knowledge in using MS Office applications (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point);
• Direct applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling in addition to performing labor estimates and developing associated manpower schedules;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Outstanding leader and motivator;
• Superior problem-solving ability to minimize cost and schedule delay;
• Capable of multi-tasking;
• Strong human relations and management skills;
• Intermediate knowledge of USCG, regulatory, and customer requirements in addition to craft-specific processes and techniques;
• Familiar with standard marine practice and general specifications for construction;
• Able and willing to travel occasionally and attend sea trials; and
• Bachelors’ of Science degree in Engineering preferred.
