Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an experienced Naval Architect to join its team.

A Naval Architect develops designs of marine craft and floating structures, such as ships, barges, tugs, etc. and performs calculations necessary to assist in the design and fabrication of such vessels.

The ideal candidate must possess a B.S. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering with knowledge in vessel design development, structural design, and auxiliary systems design for marine crafts such as patrol vessels, offshore supply vessels, tugs, and barges. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must in addition to familiarity with ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO and other applicable regulations. Experience with AutoCAD, FEA, GHS, Rhino software is a plus. The ability to multitask and work within a fast-paced environment is imperative.

Bollinger Shipyards has an immediate opening for a Senior Instructor at its CHAND facility.

Ideal candidate will develop, write, and edit material for training guides, presentations, training courses, and training material to support classroom instruction. Must have the skills to effectively communicate and instruct large groups through verbal and written communications. Two years’ verifiable experience in the Training and/or Technical writing field or related experience with an understanding of the marine industry, basic computer experience utilizing MS Office applications, and the ability to travel is required. Candidate must be experienced in deck seamanship, modern electronics suite and craft operator with water jet propulsion system. Military or Commercial marine engineering experience is highly desired. Advanced software skills such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, Arbortext, Framemaker, or SGML editors are a plus.
