Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Marine Engineer to join its team.

A Mechanical/Marine Engineer is responsible for the design of a vessel’s propulsion and auxiliary systems, piping and HVAC.

The requirements of the position are as follows:

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering and have a minimum of 7 years of experience in marine auxiliary systems;
• Must have experience in piping, heating-ventilation-air conditioning (HVAC), insulation, machinery ventilation, sewage systems, sea water systems, pipe sizing based on fluid mechanics, pump matching, selection and use of piping components, pipe routing and pipe support design;
• Must have the ability to use computer assisted engineering software to design the products or systems listed above;
• Ability to support all production and testing activities;
• Complete familiarity with CFR, ABS, NVIC and USCG rules and regulations for mechanical and piping systems along with other applicable regulations;
• Must have basic computer skills using Microsoft applications (i.e., MS Excel, MS Word); and
• Must be self-motivated and exhibit excellent communication and leadership skills.

Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an experienced Buyer to join its team.

A Buyer coordinates activities involved with acquiring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, etc. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to: identifying and setting up potential suppliers, creating solicitations and RFQ’s, negotiating contracts/agreements, creating purchase orders for materials and services needed in the construction/repair of vessels, expediting shipments, resolving discrepancies for quality/quantity of shipments, evaluating suppliers, sourcing required reporting data as necessary, reviewing proposals, quotations and market conditions.

The requirements of the position are as follows:

• Must be positive, self-driven and team oriented with a minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing structural, mechanical, and/or piping materials within a shipyard or fabrication setting;
• Must have good communication skills;
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. MS Excel, MS Outlook, etc.); and
• Oracle experience is a plus.

Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an experienced Naval Architect to join its team.

A Naval Architect develops designs of marine craft and floating structures, such as ships, barges, tugs, etc. and performs calculations necessary to assist in the design and fabrication of such vessels.

The requirements of the position are as follows:

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in vessel design development, structural design, and auxiliary systems design for marine crafts such as patrol vessels, offshore supply vessels, tugs, and barges;
• Must have excellent communication and leadership skills;
• Must have complete familiarity with ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO and other applicable regulations;
• Must be able to schedule and direct work on multiple projects;
• Must have the ability to work within a fast-paced environment;
• Must be a U.S. National; and
• Experience with AutoCAD, FEA, GHS, Rhino software is desirable.
