Job Title: Weight Control Engineer (Hybrid Schedule Available)
Location: Lockport, LA
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Weight Control Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in vessel design development, structural design, and auxiliary systems design for marine crafts such as patrol vessels, offshore supply vessels, tugs, and barges. This role also involves technical management of weight changes as vessels progress from baseline to the final product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage vessel designs, including structural and auxiliary systems.
- Oversee and control weight changes throughout the vessel’s lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and standards, including ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, and IMO.
- Effectively communicate and lead within the team and with external stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining schedules in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in vessel design and development.
- Familiarity with ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO, and other applicable regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, FEA, GHS, and Rhino software is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to strict schedules.
