POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated System Tester with preferably at least 6 months of marine or 3 months of continuous Company experience in a similar position. The candidate will provide hands-on assistance to the assigned supervisor, perform duties required in the test function, including test preparation, conducting tests, and recording results.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 6 months of marine or 3 months of continuous Company experience in a similar position preferred
- Must be able to work in confined/enclosed spaces
- Must be able to work/climb in elevations greater than 5’
- Must be able to wear/work a respirator when applicable
SKILLS
- Knowledge of shipyard testing processes, such as air, hydro and non-destructive test methods
- Can monitor and read gauges and similar test equipment
- Familiar with hand tools used for test set-up and monitoring
- Can detect test problems and effect corrective action as directed
- Able to follow orders with a minimum of supervision
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows instructions from supervisor
- Prepares systems for structural integrity and tightness testing as directed
- Sets up all test equipment and conducts required test functions
- Monitors test functions and interprets results; may record data as required
- Corrects minor test discrepancies as needed to ensure test is completed satisfactorily
- Must follow all Company policies and procedures, including those relative to employee safety, environmental policy, and the principles of our quality system
