Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: identifying and setting up potential suppliers, creating solicitations and RFQ’s, negotiating contracts/agreements, creating purchase orders for materials and services needed in the construction/repair of vessels, expediting shipments, resolving discrepancies for quality/quantity of shipments, evaluating suppliers, sourcing required reporting data as necessary, reviewing proposals, quotations and market conditions. Ideal candidate should be positive, self-driven and team oriented with a minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing structural, mechanical, and/or piping materials within a shipyard or fabrication setting. Candidate should have good communication skills and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. MS Excel, MS Outlook, etc.). Oracle experience is a plus.
