POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Structural Welder with at least 6 months of Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) 3G/4G structural welding experience. The candidate will weld together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 6 months of FCAW 3G/4G structural welding experience
- Pass a hands-on FCAW 3G/4G structural welding test with the 3G position welded with downhill progression and 4G welded entirely in the overhead position
SKILLS
- Proficiency in structural welding techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to welding
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Weld together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions
- Obtain the appropriate tools needed for a particular job and subsequently sets up their equipment
- Bind together structural metal components that have been pre-assembled and tacked into place
- Perform good, cosmetic sound welds
- Examine own work and may chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter with the appropriate tools. (i.e., grinder, chipping hammer, etc.)
- Leave little or no rework when job is complete (i.e., cold rolls, pin holes, wraps, burn through, etc.)
- Troubleshoot equipment
- May gouge to remove a member, make a seam sound, remove weld reinforcement, etc.
