POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Test and Trials Working Leaderman (Sea Trials) with at least 7 years of shipbuilding experience, or 5 years of continuous internal Company experience in a similar position. The candidate will lead craft production activities and perform craft-specific operations during shipbuilding and repair functions. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes during sea-trials and exhibits strong leadership skills to successfully coordinate workstation activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 7 years of shipbuilding experience, or 5 years of continuous internal Company experience in a similar position
- Considerable experience in sea-trials, shipbuilding, or craft-specific operations
- Previous supervisory experience is required
SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of craft-specific processes, techniques, standard marine practices, and general construction/repair specifications
- Proficiency in advanced testing equipment and NDE devices, with the ability to perform inspections beyond visual techniques
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze codes, technical specifications, and advanced blueprints or construction drawings
- Competence in resource planning, workflow scheduling, and workstation management
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, exhibiting high energy levels and maintaining a good attitude
- Ability to work well with other craft managers and team members
- Travel onboard vessels during trials required
- Clean Driving record preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and coordinates related craft activities for the assigned workstation
- Develops, reviews, and maintains maintenance projects, construction plans, schedules, budgets, and other essential production records
- Sets up, operates, repairs, and maintains craft-specific equipment during sea-trials
- Inspects three or more specialized areas including welding, machining, painting, piping, mechanical, electrical, electronics, alarm systems, and testing
- Utilizes advanced Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) testing techniques including Thermo-graphic, Fiber Optic, Radiographic film, Liquid Penetrate (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging (UT)
- Supervises, instructs, and evaluates craft workers to ensure compliance with standard marine practices and general construction specifications
- Interfaces and collaborates effectively with other craft managers to ensure smooth project workflows
