POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in electrical engineering OR 10 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent. The candidate will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, and systems.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering OR 10 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university preferred
SKILLS
- Must be familiar with CFR, USCG, NVIC, and IEEE rules that apply to various projects
- Demonstrates good communication skills, including written and oral communication
- Ability to use computer assisted engineering software and equipment in performing tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs engineering work in designing and overseeing manufacture, construction, and installation of shipboard electrical systems including: power, lighting, interior communications, control systems, and electronics.
- Ensures designs meet regulatory standards related to electrical installations. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
- Designs and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.
- Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses.
- Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Must follow all Company policies and procedures, including those relative to employee safety, environmental policy, and the principles of our quality system.
