Warehouse/Purchasing Specialist
Location: Fourchon, LA
Position Overview: The Warehouse/Purchasing Specialist is responsible for performing purchasing and warehouse activities, with a focus on materials, equipment, and tools used in shipyard repair and construction. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse management, purchasing, and supervisory roles, with a preference for those with shipyard or fabrication setting experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform purchasing activities for materials, equipment, and tools used in shipyard repair and construction.
- Receive materials and resolve discrepancies.
- Supervise warehouse personnel and ensure efficient warehouse operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and purchasing activities.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Organize and manage warehouse layout and storage.
- Utilize basic computer software for record-keeping and communication (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in purchasing and warehouse activities, preferably within a shipyard and/or fabrication setting.
- Knowledgeable in the materials, equipment, and tools used in shipyard repair and construction.
- Basic knowledge of computers and standard software (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook).
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Supervisory or management experience is preferred.
- Oracle experience is a plus.

- Proficiency in purchasing and warehouse management.
