Basic Function:
· Supports and assists management and program management with various aspects of contract management, development along with contract administration with professional service contractors and equipment and material suppliers.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or related field
· Working experience using and interpreting Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
· Advance knowledge of computer software, i.e., Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word documents
· Knowledge of US Government, USCG and ABS forms for submittals during a project
· Good communication skills, including written and oral communication
· Working within the Shipbuilding and/or steel manufacturing industry is desired
Essential Functions/Duties:
· Supports PM group in negotiating various elements of contracts with suppliers and vendors
· Assist Legal and PM departments in reviewing proposals, compliance requirements and regulations, etc.
· Provides guidance to team members on contracts administration, concepts and regulations
· Supports PM group in reviewing and maintaining schedule of contract requirements to ensure compliance
· Reviews Government contracts for applicable flow-down clauses and develops subcontracts as required
· Assists program managers and legal department with the preparing/drafting of formal letters and other documents as requested
· Assists in researching new laws and proposed legislation in gathering potential impacts on current and future contracts
· Supports PM and Legal in settlement of disputes regarding contract interpretation, conditions or compliance with legal requirements
· Assists in the development of Technical Assistance Agreement applications as required by the International Trade and Arms Regulations
· Support the risk management group in performing daily tasks regarding vendors, etc.
