Short-Arc (GMAW) Welder (1st Class)
Location: Lockport, LA
Position Overview: A Short-Arc (GMAW) Welder is responsible for welding together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions. The ideal candidate must have experience in Short-Arc (GMAW) welding and the ability to pass a hands-on welding test.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weld structural metal components using the Short-Arc (GMAW) welding technique.
- Follow blueprints, work orders, and oral instructions to complete welding tasks.
- Ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of Short-Arc (GMAW) welding experience.
- Ability to successfully pass a hands-on 3G/4G Short-Arc (GMAW) welding test:
- 3G position welded with downhill progression.
- 4G position welded entirely in the overhead position.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Short-Arc (GMAW) welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
- Attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to welding.
