1st Class Marine Electrician
Location: Lockport, LA
Position Overview: A Marine Electrician installs and repairs wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services aboard vessels and in the shipyard. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience and knowledge in marine electrical systems and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and repair wiring, fixtures, and equipment for electrical services on vessels and in the shipyard.
- Read and interpret standard construction drawings and specifications.
- Utilize job-related tools, gauges, meters, and other equipment to ensure systems are operating correctly.
- Familiarize with all aspects of craft-specific marine construction, from design through installation and testing.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Marine Electrician.
- Ability to read and interpret standard construction drawings and specifications.
- Good working knowledge of electrical systems operations.
- Proficiency with job-related tools, gauges, meters, and other equipment.
- Familiarity with marine construction processes from design through installation and testing.
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent understanding of marine electrical systems and components.
- Good communication skills to effectively work with other team members and departments.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a marine environment.
