Scholarships

Bollinger Shipyards offers scholarship programs for eligible full time employees and their dependents.

Bollinger Shipyards active full time employee's children, grandchildren, and step children are eligible to apply for the following high school graduate scholarships. Updated scholarship applications, eligibility requirements and additional information pertaining to the scholarships can be obtained from the website or at your local Human Resources Department in February of each year. Bollinger Scholarship

ONE(1) $4000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior child,step-child or grandchild of an active full time employee. The scholarship will be distributed at $500 a semester and will be awarded to a qualifying candidate planning to attend a two or four year college or university of their choice.

Bollinger Community & Technical Scholarship

ONE(1) $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior child,step-child or grandchild of an active full time employee. The scholarship will be distributed at $250 a semester and will be awarded to a qualifying candidate planning to attend a two year community or technical college of their choice.

Bollinger Shipyards Partners In Education College Scholarship

ONE(1) $4000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior of Central Lafourche High School. The scholarship will be distributed at $500 a semester and will be awarded to a qualifying candidate planning to attend a two or four year college or university of their choice.

Bollinger Shipyards Partners In Education Community and Technical Scholarship

ONE(1) $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior of Central Lafourche High School. The scholarship will be distributed at $250 a semester and will be awarded to a qualifying candidate planning to attend a two year community or technical college of their choice.

South Central Industrial Association (SCIA)

Applicants eligible to apply for SCIA scholarships must be a resident from Lafourche, Terrebonne or St. Mary Parish. SIX (6) merit-based scholarships and TWO (2) needs-based scholarships will be awarded this year to qualifying seniors attending an accredited Louisiana two or four year college program. Merit-based scholarships require candidates to have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or greater and a minimum of 20 ACT score (except for the Fletcher Scholarship). Needs-based scholarships require candidates to have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5. Children of Bollinger employees that reside in the abovementioned parishes qualify for these scholarships due to company membership in SCIA.

Fourchon Oilman's Association Scholarship (FOA)

Applicants eligible to apply for FOA scholarships must be a graduating senior and must attend Central Lafourche High School, Covenant Christian Academy, E.D. White Catholic High School, Ellender Memorial High School, Grand Isle High School, H.L. Bourgeois High School, Houma Christian School, South Lafourche High School, South Terrebonne High School, Terrebonne High School, Thibodaux High School or Vandebilt Catholic High School. The FOA will offer scholarship(s) worth $4,000 each to a college or university bound student and scholarship(s) worth $1,000 each to a community or technical college bound student. 4 year college awards will be paid in installments upon completion of each semester, provided cumulative GPA requirement of 2.50 is met and the student maintains full-time status. 2 year technical community college awards will be paid in installments upon completion of each semester, provided cumulative GPA requirement of 2.50 is met and the student maintains full-time status. Children of Bollinger employees that are seniors from the abovementioned schools qualify for these scholarships due to company membership in FOA.

Bayou Industrial Group (BIG)

Applicants eligible to apply for this scholarship must be a qualifying senior from Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary or Assumption Parish planning to attend Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College. Scholarship(s) awarded to a student attending Nicholls State University will be paid in installments upon completion of each semester, provided cumulative GPA requirement of 3.0 is met and the student maintains full-time status. Scholarship(s) awarded to a student attending Fletcher Technical Community College will be paid in installments upon completion of each semester, provided cumulative GPA requirement of 2.75 is met and the student maintains full-time status. Children of Bollinger employees that are seniors from the abovementioned parishes qualify for these scholarships due to company membership in BIG. The number of scholarships awarded will be determined by scholarship fund capacity in 2020.

Mark Landry Memorial Scholarship (GSSC)

 

FIVE (5) $1000 technical trade scholarships will be awarded to candidates that are planning to enroll in a course of study or training program that will, at a minimum, award a certification and prepare them to work in the shipbuilding/repair industry.
