POSITION OVERVIEW 

We are seeking a dedicated Workcenter Supervisor with at least 7 years within shipbuilding or a manufacturing setting in addition to 5 years of supervisory experience. The candidate will direct his/her workforce in the successful implementation of craft specific activities within the Numerical Control (NC) Table/Panel Line, Prefab and Material Control as it relates to associated shipbuilding functions.

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Minimum of 7 years within shipbuilding or a manufacturing setting in addition to 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Well-organized manager, with directly applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling
  • Can read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and other technical guidance documentation

SKILLS 

  • Works well with other production supervisors
  • Exhibits high energy levels and maintains a good attitude
  • Able to perform labor estimates and develop associated manpower schedules
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes and techniques

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop, review, and maintain construction plans, schedules, budgets and other essential records
  • Ensure material and labor resources necessary to accomplish tasks are readily available
  • Maintain work schedules; work overtime as needed to minimize project delay
  • Meet with other members of production management to coordinate department effort
  • Optimize effort to produce a high-quality work product consistent with Company standards
  • Train and motivate workforce to result in high levels of productivity
  • Address daily personnel, equipment and facility issues; develops viable solutions and remedial actions
  • Delegate work as required to maintain level workloads
  • Enforce all Company policies, procedures, work practices and safety standards
  • Track progress on projects to identify project issues
  • Coordinate project scope changes/contingency plans
  • Continually keeps supervisors informed of project status
