POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Welding Superintendent with at least 7 years of welding experience in shipbuilding or repair industry. The candidate will supervise and lead skilled welders and supervisors in performing specialized tasks related to shipbuilding and repair.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 7 years of welding experience in shipbuilding or repair industry
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
- CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification is preferred
SKILLS
- Proficiency in specific welding techniques and processes
- Skilled in labor estimation and manpower scheduling
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical guidelines accurately
- Knowledgeable in standard marine practices and general specifications for construction/repair
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guide and coordinate welding activities to meet project goals
- Develop, review, and maintain construction plans, schedules, budgets, and essential documentation
- Ensure materials and labor are allocated efficiently
- Oversee work schedules and adjust for overtime as required to prevent project delays
- Address personnel, equipment, and facility issues promptly and implement effective solutions
- Handle hiring, terminations, promotions, and transfers
