A Test/Trials Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all testing requirements are met to the customer’s requirements. The ideal candidate will research, develop, and write test program material (i.e., comprehensive test plan, test agenda, test plan index, test procedures, and test schedules); as well as coordinate the efforts of subject matter experts in doing the same for specialized equipment and systems, to support the Quality Program. Must be familiar with USCG, ABS, SOLAS, and other regulatory requirements. Skilled in the operational aspects of a ship’s machinery plant equipment in addition to being able to safely operate, test and troubleshoot equipment. Knowledgeable of computer software such as Microsoft Office, i.e., Excel, Word, etc. in addition to excellent customer communication skills, including written and oral communication.
The minimum requirements are five (5) years of shipboard operational experience with a Bachelor’s degree or ten (10) years of shipboard operational experience or shipyard experience performing similar duties/responsibilities.
