A Senior Technical Writer/Damage Control Writer has extensive experience in technical writing for military ships and develops, writes, and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, Damage Control Books, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications in print or electronic media. Candidate must have experience developing Damage Control Books in accordance with NTS 9090-820. A minimum of 5 years of technical writing experience is required. A B.S. degree in English or Technical Writing is preferred and experience using SGML/XML software as well as extensive experience using MS Office software is required. Familiarity with Arbortext Editor, Adobe Frame Maker is a plus. Candidate must be able to review and comprehend Engineering drawings and have a general knowledge of watercraft vessels and their installed components.
