POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equal and have a minimum of 5 -7 years of shipyard or marine HVAC design experience. The candidate will be responsible for complete system design from conceptual level to production design of Marine Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equal and have a minimum of 5 -7 years of shipyard or marine HVAC design experience
- Must have basic computer skills using Microsoft applications (i.e., MS Excel, MS Word) and AutoCAD
- Equipment selection and incorporation of ventilation and cooling systems for complete design on vessels
- Military or government design experience with supporting calculations/design reviews
- Knowledge of SNAME 4-16, ASHRAE, or similar design criteria
SKILLS
- Must be self-motivated and exhibit excellent communication and leadership skills
- Familiarity with CFR, ABS, NVIC, SOLAS, and USCG rules and regulations for mechanical systems along with other applicable regulations
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must have knowledge of marine insulation, machinery ventilation, and air conditioning
- Perform necessary calculations to validate design and submit required reports to classification society and/or customer
- Must have the ability to use computer assisted engineering software to design the products or systems
- Ability to support all production and testing activities
