BASIC FUNCTION:
A Project Coordinator ILS monitors projects to ensure that all prescribed activities are carried out by specified objectives. The role involves coordinating and scheduling all aspects of assigned projects among various disciplines, including logistics, supply support, accounting, maintenance, subcontractors, management, and customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Experience (Years):
- Three (3) to five (5) years of management experience.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of similar experience in shipbuilding or a related field preferred.
Minimum Skills and Abilities:
- College degree in business or a related field preferred.
- Outstanding leadership, motivation, and communication skills.
- Good human relations and management skills.
- Knowledge of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office).
- Capable of handling projects with single/multi-government contracts.
- Familiarization with ship operations preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Handle single or multi-government contracts dealing with ILS, procurement, supply support, and inactive maintenance functions.
- Interface with customers and vendors; work with ILS and/or maintenance team to develop deliverable schedules based on vendor coordination.
- Expedite and ensure all vendor-furnished information (VFI) is provided in a timely manner to achieve ILS objectives by interfacing with vendors/manufacturers.
- Work in concert with the Program Support Manager, Acquisition Logistics Manager, and the Logistics Program Management Team to lay the foundation for program tasks and assist the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) team in understanding the organization of the project’s source data, including VFI, Engineering Design Data, Test Procedures, and other Program Data.
- Discuss final estimates and projects with ILS/Technical Support, procurement, supply support, and supply support management.
- Work with the Technical Data department to determine inactive maintenance requirements for equipment on order or delivered to the customer. Identify inactive maintenance functions via technical manual review and decomposition.
- Coordinate with the customer to convey inactive maintenance requirements as required for each program.
- Plan and develop methods and procedures for implementing programs, direct and coordinate program activities, and support other department personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of the program.
- Ensure that the aims, goals, or objectives for specified programs are accomplished in accordance with prescribed priorities, time limitations, and budget conditions.
- Ensure that all team members of the project understand the scope of the project and their individual responsibilities.
- Communicate with management regarding team member responsibilities with respect to job functions throughout the different phases of the program cycle.
- Direct and coordinate activities concerned with implementation and carrying out objectives of the program.
- Prepare program reports for superiors.
- Confer with personnel to provide technical advice and assist in problem-solving.
- Assist in the coordination of Human Systems Integration activities between internal and external personnel.
- Follow all Company policies and procedures, including those related to employee safety, environmental policy, ethics policy, and the principles of our quality system.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by Management.
- Work overtime as required.
