POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Blaster/Painter Working Leaderman with preferably at least 5 years of shipbuilding/repair experience or 3 years of continuous Company experience in a similar position. The candidate will direct their workforce in the successful implementation of craft-specific activities as it relates to associated shipbuilding and/or repair functions.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years of shipbuilding/repair experience or 3 years of continuous Company experience in a similar position preferred
SKILLS
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes and techniques
- Well-organized supervisor with directly applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling
- Has good basic knowledge of shipbuilding/repair activities
- Familiar with standard marine practice and general specifications for construction
- Can perform labor estimates and planning manning schedules
- Exhibits high energy levels and maintains a good attitude
- Works well with other craft supervisors
- Can read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and other technical guidance documentation
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs and coordinates related craft activities
- Develops, reviews, and maintains schedules, budgets and other essential records
- Provides specific task requirements, technical and hands-on guidance to subordinates
- Responds to daily personnel, equipment and facility issues; develops viable solutions and remedial actions
- Trains and motivates workforce to result in high levels of productivity
- Optimizes efforts to produce a high-quality work product consistent with Company standards
- Meets with other supervisors to coordinate craft efforts
- Ensures material and labor resources necessary to accomplish tasks are readily available
