Assistant Quality Manager is responsible for supporting the Quality Manager in the oversite of a construction project’s quality functions. This includes assisting in the managing, monitoring, administering and maintaining the quality assurance, control and project testing programs to ensure compliance. Will assist in conducting research and developing written program materials to support the project’s objectives. Also, will support the Quality Manager in identifying and implementing corrective action in addressing product or service quality and monitoring effectiveness of solutions. Interfaces with project vendors, customers, and company personnel. Will support the Quality Manager in guiding the project’s quality team in ensuring prescribed project activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
The ideal candidate must have six (6) years combined experience in quality management, project management, project engineering, or construction management in addition to two (2) years of experience in quality management. Must be familiar with quality control & assurance principles in addition to USCG, ABS, SOLAS, and other regulatory requirements. Must have blueprint reading skills, ability to guide workers in performing tasks, ability to read and interpret standards, codes and specifications. Basic computer skills using MS Office applications and good communication skills, including written and oral communication, are required.
