Scholarships

Bollinger Shipyards offers scholarship programs for eligible full time employees and their dependents.

Bollinger Shipyards active full time employee's children, grandchildren, and step children are eligible to apply for the following high school graduate scholarships. Updated scholarship applications, eligibility requirements and additional information pertaining to the scholarships can be obtained from the website or at your local Human Resources Department in February of each year. Bollinger Scholarship

ONE(1) $4000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior child,step-child or grandchild of an active full time employee. The scholarship will be distributed at $500 a semester and will be awarded to a qualifying candidate planning to attend a two or four year college or university of their choice.

South Central Industrial Association (SCIA)

TWO (2) $1000 scholarships will be awarded each year to a qualifying senior attending a Louisiana two or four year college program. ONE (1) $500 scholarship will be awarded each year to each of the three local technical schools. Children of Bollinger employees qualify for these scholarships due to company membership in SCIA.

Bollinger Shipyards Partners In Education Community and Technical Scholarship

ONE (1) $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior of Central Lafourche High School. The scholarship will be distributed at $250 a semester and will be awarded to a qualifying candidate planning to attend a two year community or technical college of their choice.

Fourchon Oilman's Association Scholarship (FOA)

The Fourchon Oilman’s Association is dedicated to improving the quality of education of our youth by providing scholarships to qualified high school seniors. The FOA will offer two (2) scholarships worth $4,000 each to a college or university bound student and two (2) scholarships worth $1,000 each to a community or technical college bound student beginning in the fall of the 2016 – 2017 school-year.

Bayou Industrial Group (BIG)

TWO (2) $4,000 scholarships to a Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary or Assumption Parish student attending Nicholls State University (to be paid in installments upon completion of each semester provided cumulative GPA requirement of 3.0 is met and the student maintains full-time status), ONE (1) $2,000 scholarship to a student attending Fletcher Technical Community College (to be paid in installments upon completion of each semester provided cumulative GPA requirement of 2.75 is met and the student maintains full-time status.) Children of Bollinger employees qualify for these scholarships due to company membership in BIG.

Mark Landry Memorial Scholarship (GSSC)

 

Technical Trades FIVE (5) $1000 scholarships will be awarded to candidates that are planning to enroll in a course of study or training program that will, at a minimum, award a certification and prepare them to work in the shipbuilding/repair industry.
