A Ship Fitter lays out and fabricates metal structural parts and braces them in position within hull of vessel for welding.

The requirements for the position are as follows:

• Must have a minimum of 6 months of ship fitting experience;
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to accurately perform layout, cutting with a torch, metric measuring (i.e. cm, mm, etc.) and structural fitting processes by successfully passing a hands-on craft test; and
• Must be able to comprehend blueprints, sketches, and templates.

The Maintenance Mechanic responsibilities will include inspecting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions, maintaining service records on vehicles and equipment, adjusting brakes, aligning wheels, checking batteries, repairing tires and tubes, performing oil changes, and disassembling and overhauling internal combustion engines, pumps, pump power units, generators, transmissions, clutches and rear ends.

Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an experienced Blaster/Painter Leader to join its team.

A Blaster/Painter Leader is responsible for leading blaster/painters in the successful implementation of production activities as it relates to associated shipbuilding and/or repair functions in addition to performing blaster/painter specific operations.

The requirements for the position are as follows:

• Must have 5 years of blasting/painting supervisory experience with resource planning/scheduling;
• Should have basic knowledge of SSPC preparations and various types of surface coatings;
• Ability to trouble shoot various craft specific equipment and coating issues;
• Ability to read and interpret paint specifications and manufacturer application instructions;
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work well with other supervisors;
• Must have a strong focus on quality, production, safety and environmental aspects of work being performed; and
• NACE certification is a plus.
