Propeller Type Descriptions

Kaplan
The Bollinger Kaplan is a modified Ka series with improved section fairness and better leading and trailing edge definition for improved performance in the rugged "workboat" environment. Features proven airfoil section design and can be offered for high horsepower and blade area demands in kort nozzles. Often installed on tugs, trawlers and offshore vessels constructed with kort nozzles.

Troost
The modified troost design offers high efficiency, speed and power. They have airfoil sections that are moderately skewed to enhance your vessel's performance. Blade areas and number of blades can be designed to suit your requirements. Typical applications include tugs, crewboats and offshore vessels.

Riverwheel
Defined by a solid circular back section with a well rounded blade outline these propellers are suitable for the inland and offshore workboats. They can be produced with rake or without rake (SNR). Standard  with 61% developed area ratio but can be manufactured at different area ratios and number of blades to meet your H.P. requirements.

Riverwheel Plus
These propellers are specially designed for high horsepower and shallow draft towboats. A stout rugged propeller with higher blade area ratios from 70% to 100%. Very good backing power attributes with airfoil sections at the inner radii and relatively wide blade sections near the tip. Usually produced with four or five blades.
